This is not your average project feature. On March 8, 2021, Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) employee-owners grabbed their golden shovels to celebrate the groundbreaking of our very own office in Springdale, Arkansas. We’re thrilled to play a pivotal role in the construction of our new home and proud to strengthen our commitment to the Northwest Arkansas region.

The new facility has been a long-time ambition for ESS and creates a significant milestone in our history. In the early parts of 2020, ESS joined forces with Hutchens Construction, An Emery Sapp & Sons Company (Hutchens). Hutchens specializes in premier asphalt construction services and maintains offices in Cassville, Missouri and Springdale, Arkansas. In addition to this new partnership, ESS has experienced significant organic growth in Arkansas; growth primarily spurred by a strong regional economy and surging economic development activity in Northwest Arkansas. This region of our operations has a very bright future. This made the decision to invest in a new local facility a no-brainer.

Jason Eldredge, Pre-Construction Manager at ESS says that “We are excited about planting roots and are here to stay. For our clients, we can be a one-stop-shop for all things outside of the building envelope. Complete turn-key infrastructure solutions – just a call away.”

To design and build the new facility, ESS added two local firms to its building team. Crafton Tull is the Engineer and Architect of Record and Kinco Constructors, LLC is serving as the general contractor. ESS crews have been tapped to perform all earthwork, underground utilities, concrete paving and asphalt paving for the new Springdale office. The volume of self-perform work totals approximately $4 million.

The new facility will hold approximately 55 individual offices for employee-owners. The office amenities in the new space include 4 conference rooms, a large “war room,” multiple offices optimized for surveying teams, and several common areas for collaboration. The new office will also boast a nice outdoor patio for lunches, meetings and entertaining our new Arkansas neighbors.

No ESS office would be complete without a state-of-the-art shop. The new Springdale shop will be located conveniently next door to the office in a separate building on the property. It will include 5 pull-through work bays, additional office spaces and break rooms, as well as a wash bay for equipment maintenance.

Employee-owners are eager to see this new space come to life! The new office and shop will be ready for action by early 2022.

Additional new office benefits:

  • Maintenance crews will be able to perform repairs locally, minimizing the need to travel longer distances.
  • There will be large storage areas for equipment and materials to be kept on site.
  • All office and field employee-owners will conveniently share one building, streamlining operations and providing easy access to additional resources and support.
  • It’s a space that employee-owners can be proud of. We look forward to hosting clients and partners in a brand new space that is practical and efficient.
