Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto

As the largest traditional bid-build project in Arkansas state history, the Highway 612 Springdale Bypass will serve as the final link connecting Interstate 49 and Highway 412 between Benton and Washington Counties. The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) selected Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) as the general contractor over this massive bridge and heavy highway project. Upon completion, ESS will have constructed 15 bridges and over three miles of a brand new, four-lane highway for the traveling public of Northwest Arkansas.

A project of this magnitude requires consistent communication from the parties involved long before breaking ground. Early initiatives led by our partners at ArDOT resulted in land and property acquisitions that will allow our crew vital access to the jobsite. Through transparency and proactive communication with our partners, we continue to provide innovative solutions to emerging issues. When the discovery of nearby utility lines threatened the safety of our crew, leaders from ESS and ArDOT immediately began working together to find a solution; ultimately coordinating with eight local utility subcontractors to safely relocate each line over the course of the next year.

Following the grading and excavation of more than 3,000,000 cubic yards of earthwork, ESS will construct 15 bridges along Highway 612– each made of locally sourced materials, such as quarry rock, steel, ready mix concrete, rebar, and reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). ESS is proud to assist in Arkansas’ largest traditional bid-build project and looks forward to opportunities for future partnership.
