Investing in our People: Emerging Leaders Class of 2024
They say a team is only as strong as its leaders — and they’re not wrong. The modern workplace has witnessed tremendous change over the years, yet one thing remains constant: high-quality leaders create high-quality teams.
Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is committed to continuing our legacy of superior leadership through the next generation of employee-owners. Introduced in 2021, the ESS Emerging Leaders Program is an annual professional training course designed and executed in-house to educate and develop high-performing individuals as they advance their careers and step into supervisory roles. By investing in our employee-owners and their professional skill sets, ESS effectively retains a diverse and motivated workforce of upcoming leaders.
The Emerging Leaders Class of 2024 was selected to receive specialized training in qualities like emotional intelligence, supportive communication, servant leadership and more. The program included four training sessions beginning in April and concluded with a graduation ceremony in October. Participants engaged in peer and self-evaluation to identify strengths and weaknesses within their management styles and learned how to leverage these skills within the workplace. Each six-hour course was led by an expert in leadership and professional development, including:
Adam Gosney, Leadership & Organizational Development Consultant at the University of Kansas Health System, Dewey Thompson, Director of the Missouri Training Institute, Rae Lyon, Associate Director of the Missouri Training Institute, and Bryana Larimer, State Specialist in Business Training for the Missouri Training Institute
CLASS OF 2024:
Emotional intelligence and its impact on company culture are at the heart of this program and, ultimately, the heart of our leadership. We’re incredibly proud of the employee-owners who completed the course and look forward to the leadership that emerges from this crew. Congratulations Class of 2024!
