At ESS, our safety department is fully integrated into our operations teams. They ensure our employee-owners are trained, structured, and equipped to do one thing – be safe. We operate under the principle that safety is not something we do in addition to work; it’s how we work. With this results-based approach, we are proud that our EMR safety rating is consistently better than the industry average.
Everyone is a safety officer. Anyone has a say in stopping work if an unsafe act is seen and reassessing that. As employee-owners, everyone has the responsibility to ensure that safety culture.
