At ESS, we take the “open book” approach to estimating. We believe in clearly showing how costs are developed, checked, and reconciled. Whether a project is competitively bid or delivered through the design-build method, our estimating team meticulously assesses identifiable risk items along with their anticipated mitigation costs. We work with our clients in an open and transparent way from day one.

Building and investing in relationships is one of our core values. And some of our most valuable relationships are those we have with our subcontractors and suppliers. We actively promote locally-owned, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and small businesses. Our teams collaboratively engage with our industry partners to develop cost-saving innovations and ways to add value to the project.
We use AGTEK earthwork software that calculates volumes of dirt, types of sub-surface materials, balance points, and constructability means and methods. We also use PlanSwift, a two dimensional take-off software. Ultimately, these programs ensure we don’t miss something and the owner can be assured that what we’re taking off is the right quantities.
