Jerry Lowes: A True Iron Man
In our world, there are a few things you can always count on: moving dirt, pouring asphalt, and working with people with enough grit to get it done. One employee-owner, Jerry Lowes, is setting a new standard as he was honored as a 2024 International Grinding and Grooving Association (IGGA) Operator of the Year (Iron Man).
An award-winning journey
This award is a testament to more than 17 years of dedication to getting the job done right. Jerry’s journey began when he was operating one machine, doing corrective grinding. Today, he’s our grinding operations manager, overseeing three crews across the country.
Jerry’s teams have completed about 2 million square yards each year throughout the last three years. Their work has gained national attention, bringing home two gold awards from the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) and the Arizona Transportation Partnering Excellence Award.
Relentless grit
Jerry’s passion drives his standard of excellence. His unwavering commitment to safety, quality and production make him an employee-owner who others look up to.
“Jerry leads by example and purpose,” said Austin Bross, project manager. “Jerry’s drive, dedication and passion for the diamond grooving and grinding industry has been passed down to his crew leaders and team in delivering the best projects possible for Departments of Transportation (DOTs).”
Jerry’s recognition is a reminder of what hard work, dedication and leadership look like. His story is one of relentless grit and the drive to deliver quality results every time. He’s an Iron Man not just because of the work he does, but because of the way he inspires those around him to do the same.
Kudos, Jerry! This award is well deserved, and we’re proud to have employee-owners like you.
