Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is leading a large-scale infrastructure improvement project split between two key locations along I-70: the Truxton exit (Route A) in Warren County and the Jonesburg exit (Route E) in Montgomery County. Selected by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT), ESS will execute the full demolition and reconstruction of two aging bridges, along with roadway and intersection upgrades designed to improve traffic flow and support future growth.

The Truxton exit portion of the project will be delivered in five phases, with substantial completion targeted by the end of 2025. As the more challenging of the two, this section will require roughly 62,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 25,000 square yards of concrete paving, 800 linear feet of underground utilities, and a full bridge replacement measuring 233 linear feet.

To ensure timely delivery, critical phases of the Truxton exit improvements include incentive and disincentive clauses, with Phase 5 calling for the full demolition of the existing bridge in just 24 hours. During this operation, I-70 traffic will be detoured onto newly constructed ramps, allowing ESS crews to safely and efficiently transition to mainline work.

Upgrades to the Jonesburg exit, scheduled for 2026, will involve a similar bridge reconstruction stretching 233 linear feet and approximately 7,000 cubic yards of earthwork. Though less complex than the Truxton site, it remains a critical element in the overall improvement of this corridor.

Upon completion in late 2026, the MODOT Call B02 – Warren & Montgomery Co. Rts A&E project will deliver two fully reconstructed bridges, 69,000 cubic yards of earthwork, and 25,000 square yards of concrete paving. ESS is grateful for the opportunity to create modernized, safer infrastructure capable of supporting the increasing demands of I-70.
