Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto
The Springfield-Branson National Airport has seen many updates that Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) has had the opportunity to be a partner in. From parking lot expansion and paving the apron for a new hangar to the reconstruction of Taxiway U, ESS is proud to have had a part in the Springfield-Branson National Airport renovations. When the opportunity to reconstruct Taxiway N was presented, we were eager to get started.
Upon winning the bid, ESS and Springfield-Branson National Airport worked together to discuss the phasing of construction to allow the project to be completed in a shorter construction time. By phasing the project between fall and spring, ESS was able to minimize active airport disturbance while speeding up the construction process.
Constant communication between ESS, CMT Engineers, and Springfield-Branson National Airport maintained the best interest of the airport and the community. Ensuring the plans are aligned in pre-construction allowed ESS to be full speed ahead in the field to deliver in a timely manner.
Construction included a 21-day shutdown of Runway 2-20 to allow demolition and replacement of a portion of Taxiway N. ESS project crews worked long hours and weekends to achieve the aggressive schedule. The team in the field made it happen smoothly with a couple of extra days to spare.
The reconstruction of the taxiways and installment of the new runway weather sensor will give travelers a better taxiway experience and ease of mind knowing that the airport has the most current data on their runway temperature in harsh weather.
The ESS teams are extremely proud of our work on this project and look forward to continuing our partnership with both Springfield-Branson National Airport and CMT Engineers on future aviation infrastructure projects.
