Josh Doerhoff Honored by Mizzou Engineering for Leadership and Impact

Congratulations to Josh Doerhoff, P.E., Executive Vice President of Operations at Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS), on being inducted into the University of Missouri’s Civil & Environmental Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni (CEADA).

The recognition celebrates Josh’s leadership in civil construction and his commitment to building stronger teams, better infrastructure, and lasting connections across Missouri and beyond.

Building a Legacy of Leadership

The CEADA honors Mizzou Engineering graduates who have made a mark in their field and their communities. Josh fits that mold — and then some.

A proud Mizzou Engineering graduate, Josh earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering before getting his start with ESS as an intern. After joining full-time as a project manager, he quickly took on greater responsibility, helping lead some of the most complex and high-profile projects at ESS. Over the years, he’s played a key role in the company’s continued growth and success.

Today, Josh serves as Executive Vice President of the Heavy Highway operations, where he guides teams across large-scale infrastructure projects, from bridges and concrete paving along major transportation corridors.

“I’m proud to represent ESS and be recognized alongside so many talented Mizzou engineers,” said Josh Doerhoff. “This honor really speaks to our teams and the employee-owners who work hard and care deeply about what they build. That’s what makes this recognition special.”

At ESS, leadership shows up in action. Josh embodies that mindset every day, leading with integrity, teamwork, and a drive to do the job right. His recognition from Mizzou Engineering is a reflection of what ESS stands for: hard work, collaboration, and pride in building what matters.
