Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Class of 2023

Here at the Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) family, our mutual desire to succeed is what motivates our employee-owners to go the extra mile and dig a little deeper. It’s because of our shared Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) that from the Southwest to the Midwest, we understand the value of our work and how it contributes to our collective success.

“Being fully invested in the ESOP is an honor for me,” says Brayden Kelly, Construction Manager for Emery Sapp & Sons. “As an employee-owner, I’m greatly motivated to contribute to our company’s continued success. I’m confident that the future of ESS is bright, and I look forward to being a part of it.”

This year’s class of newly Vested Owners join a long line of individuals dedicated to bettering both their craft and their company.

“Becoming a vested employee-owner means I have truly ‘earned it,’ and now it’s up to us to keep growing it for the future,” says Klay Camden, Project Manager for Emery Sapp & Sons. “To me, when I became vested this year it reinforced the career change that I made three years ago. I took a giant leap in switching companies and haven’t regretted it once since. The ESS family and culture have solidified my decision daily and there is no better team to work with.”

Linda Holsapple, an Administrative Assistant for Achen-Gardner Construction, shares that becoming vested has brought her a sense of accomplishment.

“I really appreciate being part of such an amazing company. Being a Vested Owner gets me one step closer to retirement, plus I received a really nice vest,” says Holsapple.

To become a Vested Owner, an employee-owner must be with the company for three years, racking up at least 1,000 hours per year. In addition to an exclusive vest, 100% of the shares in Vested Owners’ ESOP accounts are theirs and cannot be forfeited.

“It’s exciting to finally own the shares awarded. What a time to be in it with the contribution increases and the percent increases in price! This will keep me grinding for sure,” says Hailey Aguinaga, Job Cost Analyst for Emery Sapp & Sons.

Kelley Hlavsa, a Project Manager for Achen-Gardner Construction, shares that becoming vested means that she gets to work alongside great people who all have the same goal in mind.

“We all have each other’s backs and look out for each other to do the best for our company,” says Hlavsa.

This year’s class of Vested Owners is 149 strong comprised of 30 Achen-Gardner Construction and 119 Emery Sapp employee-owners.

Congratulations Class of 2023!
