The ESS Foundation 7th Annual Golf Classic

What a day! The ESS Foundation’s 7th Annual Golf Classic was in full swing on Monday, September 30 with two full flights of hundreds of golfers. More importantly, we came together to support the ESS Foundation’s mission of promoting careers in construction and providing opportunities for the future workforce. The ESS Foundation is an employee-owner-led nonprofit organization.

The course was packed with players and sponsors ready to make the event unforgettable. The day was filled with birdies, awards, games, scholarships, and plenty of “practice” swings.

BIGGER THAN A GOLF TOURNAMENT

At the heart of the tournament is something more important than who had the best round. The day is a testament to the ESS Foundation’s support for the next generation of construction professionals. With the funds raised, the Foundation awarded more than $67,000 worth of scholarships to 43 students pursuing education in a construction-related field.

The ESS Foundation was honored to present the Justin Gay Memorial Scholarship. The $3,000 scholarship was created in memory of former employee-owner, Justin Gay, who tragically died in 2021. Justin’s passion for the construction industry lives on through the support provided by the scholarship. Recipient Gabriel Flood is attending State Technical College to pursue Drafting/Design Engineering.

“To receive the Justin Gay Memorial Scholarship was a great honor,” said Flood. “Learning about who he was to the ESS family gave me a lot of pride to have my name attached to this scholarship. It has also assisted in the financial expenses associated with furthering my education in the drafting and design engineering field.”
