The ESS Foundation: More Than Just A Golf Tournament

Jessica Claas | Tuesday November 3, 2020

So, you’ve heard of the ESS Foundation, but what exactly is it? Started and led by fellow employee-owners, this non-profit organization is dedicated to building and investing in the development of our current and future workforce. In fact, that’s its mission. All funds raised for the organization support three main pillars: promote careers in construction; provide career opportunities through education; mentorship; and training programs; and benefit community development projects throughout our region. We accomplish this in a variety of ways, from providing scholarships, to giving large grants to industry organizations and their construction workforce efforts. We all know construction is a top-notch career, and the ESS Foundation is doing its part to ensure future generations are aware of just how amazing it can be.

Did we mention scholarships? If you know anyone that is applying or currently pursuing a career in construction, they may be eligible for a $1,500 scholarship.

The more literal sense of the word foundation is an underlying base or support – a groundwork upon which something is built up. With that in mind, we’d like to think of our partners as the “foundation” of our Foundation. Without their support, we would not be able to further the mission of promoting careers in construction. The ESS Foundation Golf Classic brings our industry and community partners together, and through sponsorships, purchased teams and in-kind donations, the success of our Foundation continues to grow.

“The ESS Foundation would not exist without the continued support of our partners in the construction industry. They all possess the excitement to better the construction industry for the years to come.” stated Justin Gay, Executive Vice President of Operations.

This year, the Golf Classic was lucky enough to have five Platinum Sponsors, all donating at the highest sponsorship level. Their generosity will help us give back to the construction community in big ways.
