Frequently Asked Questions
Want to know more about our mitigation services?
For many, the area of mitigation services is unfamiliar territory, and that’s fine! ESS Is here to help explain what it is, why it’s important, and how we can help. Here are a few questions we get asked more than the others.
-
I have a project near a wetland. How can I get in touch for help?
Give our environmental experts a shout: ess-green@emerysapp.com

What are wetland and stream credits and how are they used?
During the project planning process, sometimes engineers determine that existing wetlands or streams will be impacted. To offset those impacts, the Corps of Engineers allows developers to purchase wetland and stream credits from pre-approved banks. Through our affiliate company ESS Green Infrastructure, we sell both wetland and stream credits.
-
Does ESS help navigate the environmental permitting process?
Yes! ESS has specialists in-house that are experts at navigating the often complicated environmental permitting process.
-
Where is the ESS Green Infrastructure bank located?
The ESS Green bank is located just east of Kansas City and serves projects within the Northwest Missouri Blackwater/Laine Rivers EDU watershed boundaries.
-
Does ESS perform jurisdictional determinations?
ESS does not provide jurisdictional determinations. As a best practice, we leave that to your preferred consultant.
