The addition of the Orthopedic Hospital to Mercy’s Healthcare Facilities in Springfield, Missouri has added numerous opportunities for several contractors in the state’s Southwest region. Even before the plans were finalized best practices, schedule, and cost savings collaboration by Emery Sapp & Sons, Olsson, and McCarthy Building Companies enabled this project to move forward without delay and with a unified site construction plan and approach.

Emery Sapp & Sons self-performed multiple civil components of this project including the mass grading of this 80-acre project, underground storm, sanitary, and utility; concrete structure and permanent retaining walls and naturally landscaped green-scaped areas. The project’s overall scope included 12 acres of clearing, stockpiling 10,000 cubic yards of topsoil for future use, and nine sanitary manholes. Throughout the entire construction schedule, good environmental stewardship and concern for the adjacent neighborhood populations were promoted.
