ESS was awarded this nearly $2.0 million contract by being the only contractor that could meet the aggressive schedule set by Heartland Pet Food Manufacturing center, which required ESS to mobilize to the site within 10 days of the bid and construct an 8-acre concrete parking lot in under 60 days. This project benefited from our teams ability to pool regional resources and crews to deliver what many deemed to be an impossible schedule. ESS leveraged their five decades of heavy civil expertise and worked hand-in-glove with the general contractor to deliver each phase of our contract efficiently and effectively.

Scope of Work
ESS utilized an on-site batch plant to build the facility’s foundation. With a combination of large machine pours, and steady hand pours for tie-ins, ESS put more than 42,000 cubic yards in place and had the first stay of the parking lot ready to go at an unrivaled pace. Despite the challenging schedule, this project was successfully completed thanks to the collective hard work of ESS Springfield and Columbia crews and the constant communication of everyone involved.
