Project Overview
At the corner of 108th Street and Skyview Avenue, Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) crews are hard at work preparing more than 100 pad-ready residential lots for families in the Kansas City area. As the General Contractor of the Skyview Residential 1st Plat project, ESS is delivering all mass grading and excavation, underground utilities, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, retaining walls and ADA-compliant ramps.
Designed with affordability in mind, these builder-ready lots require intricate grading and an immense amount of preliminary earthwork. ESS will move roughly 151,000 cubic yards of dirt to increase lot density and ensure vertical construction begins according to schedule. The project features more than 20,400 linear feet of underground utilities, 36 storm structures and 20 sanitary structures. Close coordination among all parties is paramount as ESS works to extend an offsite water main and connect it to the development.
Additional scopes of work include paving more than 14,100 square yards of asphalt, installing 9,000 feet of curb and gutter, and constructing 940 square yards of 4-inch concrete sidewalks. ESS will also provide 34 ADA-compliant ramps to ensure accessibility for all residents.
The team's strong performance on the 1st Plat has already led to continued opportunities within the development. Through a combination of quality work, dependable execution and a strong relationship with the owner, ESS was also awarded the Skyview Residential 2nd Plat project, reinforcing the client's confidence in the team's ability to deliver critical infrastructure that keeps the growing community on schedule.
Upon completion, the Skyview Residential project will help create more than 100 homes for families in Kansas City. ESS is grateful for the opportunity to support our community through safe, reliable infrastructure while continuing our partnership on future phases of the Skyview development.
