Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto
The City of Branson selected Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) to revitalize its historic downtown district with major infrastructure and streetscape improvements. Serving as general contractor, ESS reconstructed the city’s iconic Main Street from Veterans Boulevard to Sycamore Street — enhancing its functionality while preserving the charm that defines downtown Branson.
A key focus for the project team was to improve the pedestrian experience and visual appeal. ESS delivered 4,787 square yards of new concrete pavement and 1,146 square yards of concrete sidewalk, along with 1,183 linear feet of new curb and gutter. The team also installed 510 square yards of decorative brick walkways to create a cohesive, inviting downtown atmosphere.
Among the most distinctive features of the revitalized corridor is a color-changing, crisscrossing RGB string lighting fixture suspended above the roadway — a first-of-its-kind installation for both ESS and the City of Branson. Crews also used a 19-foot by 23-foot metal stamp to embed a cursive “B” into the concrete, adding a custom touch to the streetscape. A new gateway sign reading “Historic Downtown Branson”, paired with decorative handrails, landscaping and irrigation, further defines the corridor’s renewed identity.
In addition to the streetscape reconstruction, ESS completed roadway lighting, erosion control, landscaping, signage and other supporting infrastructure. Despite challenges such as maintaining business access, coordinating complex design features and managing weather delays, the team successfully delivered a transformative result that reflects Branson’s character and community pride.
In total, the project included 3,800 cubic yards of earthwork, 1,432 linear feet of underground utilities, and 4,787 square yards of concrete pavement. Through thoughtful design and expert execution, ESS helped the City of Branson reimagine its historic downtown — creating a welcoming and vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.
