Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto

This confidential project is part of a large-scale renewable energy development designed to generate up to 150 megawatts of clean solar energy in rural Kentucky. Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) was selected to perform critical civil site work in preparation for phase two of the project. Upon completion, ESS crews will deliver nearly 160,000 cubic yards of grading and excavation, install more than 2,500 linear feet of storm sewage, and construct more than 70,700 square yards of all-new access roads.

The project has presented several challenges, most notably an aggressive schedule. While energy projects typically move quickly, the team’s pace has greatly increased to achieve the accelerated delivery date. ESS mobilized multiple crews, leveraged heavy equipment, and worked closely with the client to ensure a timely completion. Close coordination and communication have been essential to project success.

Safety is deeply embedded in both ESS and the client’s culture, making program alignment a critical part of this project. Given the nature of energy infrastructure, ESS has implemented additional precautions to ensure the safety of all personnel on the jobsite. The project team completes detailed daily Task Hazard Analyses (THAs) to identify potential risks and develop innovative solutions. Constant collaboration with the client has helped eliminate miscommunication and provide all parties with the most accurate, updated information.

ESS is grateful to contribute to this renewable energy milestone for the state of Kentucky and looks forward to its positive environmental impact upon completion in late 2026.
