Project Overview
Set against the rugged terrain of Northwest Arkansas, the OZ Trails Bike Park is redefining what outdoor recreation looks like in the region. As Arkansas’s first lift-served mountain bike park, the destination brings a true gravity riding experience to the nationally recognized OZ Trails network, connecting riders to more than 20 miles of purpose-built trails designed for every skill level.
ESS proudly served as the site construction manager, helping transform an ambitious concept into one of the most unique cycling destinations in the central United States. From early design collaboration through final construction, ESS played a critical role in shaping the park’s infrastructure while navigating steep terrain, complex logistics, and an accelerated schedule.
The ESS team completed nearly 25,000 cubic yards of grading and excavation, constructed access roads and work platforms across mountainous terrain, installed concrete foundations for the chairlift system, and coordinated the placement of lift towers alongside specialty partners. Crews also delivered paving, drainage, and civil infrastructure essential to supporting the park’s long-term operations and visitor experience.
What makes the project stand apart is not just the scale of construction, but the precision required to build within heavily wooded hillsides while preserving the natural landscape that defines the OZ Trails experience. Through close coordination with the owner, designers, and specialty contractors, ESS helped value engineer key components of the project to maintain budget and improve constructability without compromising the vision.
Today, the park stands as a landmark destination for riders across the country — strengthening Northwest Arkansas’s reputation as a premier outdoor recreation hub and showcasing ESS’s ability to deliver complex, experience-driven infrastructure projects in challenging environments.
