Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto

Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is proud to partner with the City of Joplin on a vital infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity and improving traffic flow for the community. This effort marks the first phase of a multi-phase improvement plan, focusing on the construction of a modern roundabout at the intersection of Zora Street and Duquesne Road. Designed to prioritize safety and efficiency, the roundabout sets the foundation for future enhancements to Zora Street, ultimately creating a seamless connection between Missouri Highway 249 and Range Line Road.

The scope of the project includes grading, installation of underground utilities, concrete and asphalt paving, base rock placement, as well as signing, striping, and electrical work. One of the significant challenges of the project involved working around existing utilities within the corridor. ESS carefully navigated this complexity by relocating utilities where necessary while ensuring the project schedule remained unaffected.

Safety was a top priority throughout the construction process, and ESS is proud to report that the project achieved zero recordable incidents. Collaboration with the client played a key role in the project’s success, as ESS worked diligently to re-phase construction activities. By consolidating and eliminating some phases, the team effectively met the client’s 120-day schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.
