Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto
The addition of the Orthopedic Hospital to Mercy’s Healthcare Facilities in Springfield, Missouri has added numerous opportunities for contractors in the state’s Southwest region. Even before the plans were finalized, best practices, schedule and cost savings collaboration by Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS), Olsson, and McCarthy Building Companies enabled this project to move forward without delay and with a unified site construction plan and approach.
ESS self-performed several civil components of this project, including mass grading the 80-acre site, installing underground storm and sanitary utilities, constructing concrete structures and permanent retaining walls, and creating naturally landscaped green-scaped areas. The project’s overall scope included 12 acres of clearing, nine sanitary manholes, and stockpiling 10,000 cubic yards of topsoil for future use. Throughout the entire construction schedule, ESS exemplified environmental stewardship and concern for adjacent populations, ultimately contributing to this project's success.
