Project Overview

Emery Sapp & Sons was awarded the site work and paving packages for the Discovery Parkway Extension project in Columbia, Missouri. Project teams began construction on this $4.5 million project in May of 2021. The Discovery Parkway Extension is the final leg of the Rolling Hills Road corridor around the southeast side of Columbia completing the loop from Lake of the Woods to US-63.

In less than 300 days, employee-owners completely transformed this greenway corridor from pastures and cropland into a new parkway. ESS’ scope of work included performing the mass grading, installing an extensive storm sewer network, completing underground utility relocations, concrete paving on streets and pedways, and constructing two new overpasses over the new parkway corridor.
