The Woodlawn residential development in Lake Lotawana, Missouri provides top-tier housing for the community. With 120 lots and an amenities center, this Ashlar Homes Community continued to grow. Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) had the opportunity to work with Ashlar Homes on Plats 1 and 2 of the Woodlawn development and built upon the client relationship as a subcontractor in winning the Plat 4 contract.
In the Woodlawn Plat 4 project, ESS performed underground utility operations and 16,810 square yards of asphalt paving. As production began, project teams found the soil unsuitable for development. To ensure top-tier service, ESS removed and replaced the unusable soil. In moving a lot of ground fairly quickly, extra caution was used to completely compact soil and prevent settlements during construction. In total, ESS moved more than 200,000 cubic yards of earth to deliver a pad-ready site.
One of the most important aspects of residential developments is completing the dirt work and pavement on time so houses can begin to be built. With that in mind, the ESS project team was on a mission to deliver a quality product with stellar production rates. Mission accomplished. Developers began building houses ahead of schedule and saw families in their new homes sooner.
