The Barry West Townhomes project is a multiphase residential development that provides 116 townhomes to the North Kansas City greater area. Building upon our established relationship and track record with the developer, Sallee Real Estate Investments awarded Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) Phase 1 of this development. ESS worked hand in glove with Sallee and the engineering team throughout the project to minimize delays and provide a quality result for future residents.

In the preconstruction phase, ESS discovered there was an existing fiber optic that ran north and south, through the project. Due to the delay in the relocation, ESS had to adapt and work around it while installing underground utilities and performing the dirt work.

During construction, limited space and live traffic also posed challenges when tying the sanitary sewer into the existing facility that was approximately 1,500 linear feet away from the project along Barry Road. However, ESS utilized safety precautions, adjusted as needed, and was able to effectively navigate the issues. In 16 months, ESS delivered 215,000 cubic yards of grading and excavation, 17,470 square yards of asphalt paving, and 17,985 linear feet of underground utilities.
