Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto
ESS was elected by General Contractor DF Chase for the $22.7 Million commercial site and roadway construction of the Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL) Service Center in Kansas City, Kansas. The service center houses 277 parking stalls for trucking, a state-of-the-art maintenance facility, a cross-dock, and offices. Employee-owners secured this project by providing a comprehensive bid package for multiple scopes of work including excavation, concrete paving, underground utilities, retaining walls and pavement stabilization.
Project teams were responsible for mass excavation, underground utilities, public pavement stabilization, and roadway construction of Speaker Road and 129th Street. ESS underground utility crews took on a substantial pipe package. In total, they installed approximately 13,000 LF of storm sewer, 4,000 LF of sanitary sewer and 8,000 LF of water line. As a part of the site package, employee-owners stabilized 6,400 LF of reinforced 2:1 slope along the perimeter of the site.
