Legacy Farms

Legacy Farms is a 383 acre residential development located in Columbia, Missouri. Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) was selected as the General Contractor for this $10 million project to excavate and grade more than 500 lots for prospective homeowners in the area. This subdivision is located in southwest Columbia on the west side of Sinclair Road. Upon completion, this neighborhood expects to welcome families and individuals into homes, cottages, condos, townhouses, and apartments.

The project was split into two phases to ensure each step of the process was completed accurately and efficiently. Phase one resulted in almost 500,000 cubic yards of excavated dirt and the addition of 198 new lots. Crews also installed more than 20,000 linear feet of water utilities. Additional scopes of work included the gradation and excavation of further lots, installation of storm and sanitary utilities, and several thousand tons of paved concrete.

The mixed income neighborhood is expected to increase connectivity amongst community members. Walkable sidewalks will also allow residents to explore Columbia on foot, reducing car emissions in the area. The land was previously owned by the University of Missouri and sits adjacent to several academic buildings.

Over the course of 13 months, ESS crews prepared more than 500 lots for construction, installed over 30,000 linear feet of underground utilities, and paved more than 10,000 cubic yards of concrete. Legacy Farms will welcome new families to Columbia, MO by the end of 2023.
