Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto
St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri sustained leveling damage in the wake of a destructive EF-5 tornado. McCarthy Building Companies contracted Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) for the mass grading, installation of site utilities, and paving for the new hospital that would promptly take its place. The Joplin Replacement Hospital is an addition to the growing list of successful projects that ESS has performed for Mercy Health Systems to help serve and drive opportunities in the Springfield and Joplin areas.
During construction, ESS excavated 816,000 cubic yards of material and completed an additional 200,000 cubic yards of mass grading. ESS also demolished 19 houses, cleared 60 acres, and replaced sewer lines at depths that ranged from 20 to 40 feet. Additionally, ESS installed nearly 25,000 linear feet of pipe and utilities, 13 junction boxes, 125 curb inlets, and 120 linear feet of cast-in-place weir wall.
