Project Overview

Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is laying the groundwork for Harmony at Clear Creek, a new residential subdivision taking shape in Shawnee, Kansas. Scheduled for completion in Fall 2026, the development will feature a vibrant mix of single-family and multifamily homes designed to support the area’s growing community. As the General Contractor, ESS is delivering the full site package complete with mass grading and excavation, sanitary and storm sewer installation, waterline services, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, and street construction.

Crews began by moving 146,400 cubic yards of dirt to shape the site for subsequent streets, utilities, and residential lots. Careful planning has allowed grading and underground utility work to progress efficiently, even during winter months when operations are limited.

ESS is managing the installation of more than 20,000 linear feet of underground utilities, including 9,400 linear feet of sanitary sewer, 7,300 linear feet of storm sewer, 1,835 linear feet of water line, and 1,720 linear feet of dry utilities. One of the greatest challenges this project poses is an 11’ x 5’ double-barrel reinforced concrete box culvert with wingwalls spanning 170 linear feet. The culvert will be constructed in a large creek channel that runs through the site, providing a needed crossing while effectively managing stormwater and protecting surrounding infrastructure. ESS is coordinating closely with all onsite crews to ensure this work continues without conflict.

The project also includes several public work components, such as storm and driveway curb construction and new subdivision entrances off Silver Heel Street. Crews will place 31,070 square yards of aggregate base rock and 19,145 square yards of asphalt paving before completing 5,825 square yards of concrete paving and 12,305 linear feet of curb and gutter. An additional 1,260 square feet of sidewalk will be phased in coordination with residential construction to minimize disruptions as homes are built. Small retaining walls and select paving elements will be completed by trusted local subcontractors, with ESS overseeing coordination, scheduling, and quality control.

By carefully balancing public and private infrastructure needs, the team will maintain efficient and high-quality development throughout the subdivision. ESS is proud to contribute to Harmony at Clear Creek and looks forward to future opportunities to support the Shawnee community.
