Starting your career early is a great way to set yourself up for success. ESS offers internships to high school and college-level students who seek a leg up on their careers.
Interns are introduced to a variety of roles and divisions of the company for a well-rounded understanding, so they can hit the ground running after graduation.
Apprenticeships
Go from student to master with Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships at ESS help you advance from entry-level to master in whichever division of our company you choose to make your career. CDL Certification
Training and licensing for CDL drivers
CDL Drivers are in tremendous demand, both at ESS and at companies throughout the US. We provide training and licensing opportunities for new drivers to our company, so you can hit the road and start earning a great income.
Our 20-day CDL License Program is free to employee-owners and provides hands-on training, so drivers can hit the road with complete confidence.

Is SAPP Academy available to people outside your organization?
SAPP Academy is available exclusively to employee-owners.

Are high school and college internships paid?
All internships are paid positions. Pay rates for interns vary based on a variety of factors including previous experience, role, and geographic location.

Do college internships contribute to coursework credit?
ESS routinely partners with higher education providers to provide internships that are eligible for course credit. Heads up! Each college or trade school has unique requirements for internships that qualify for course credit. Be sure to talk to our recruiters or your hiring manager to make sure your internship meets all requirements.

Is your CDL License program available to people outside your company?
At this time, the CDL License program is only available to employee-owners. If you’re interested in gaining your CDL License and interested in coming to work for ESS, reach out to our recruiters. This program is well-suited to new team members looking to begin a career as a full-time driver.

Does SAPP Academy train for skilled and non-skilled positions?
SAPP Academy training content is built for all employee owners, including skilled and unskilled. Our Civil Construction 101 course is designed to supplement on-the-job education for individuals starting out in the civil construction industry.
