Midway USA is an online retailer based out of Columbia, Missouri that exclusively sells ammunition, hunting and shooting accessories, and outdoor equipment. This 190-acre industrial development was designed with expansion in mind, with areas of the site already graded and infrastructure installed to accelerate future expansion.
A longstanding infrastructure partner of the Potterfield Group, Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) was awarded an early-release bid package to prepare the site for development. Under the general contractor, Coil Construction, ESS continued to serve as the civil contractor for the project.
Immediately following the award of this project, ESS proposed a strategic work plan that included a dedicated team of experienced operators and a fleet of equipment capable of delivering a quality infrastructure project before the scheduled completion date.
Within 40 days of starting the project, ESS made swift progress on the warehouse’s large jobsite. Project teams moved more than 350,000 cubic yards of dirt and delivered a 376,000 square foot stabilized building pad. The team drove an aggressive schedule to produce a quality infrastructure product before the scheduled completion date.
At the completion of construction, our crews put up some impressive numbers. ESS excavated 860,000 cubic yards of material, laid more than 42,000 square yards of concrete paving, and installed 12,300 linear feet of underground utilities. In addition, ESS managed erosion control, clearing/tree removal, strip site stockpiling, placement of 6″ aggregate base on the building pad, and respreading of topsoil.
