Hunt Midwest initiated the Business Park development to expand the industrial and commercial footprint in Northern Kansas City. The sprawling site is now home to many warehouses and office spaces. Tenants have unparalleled access to transportation hubs, highways and a large local labor force, making it a well-suited location for logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing and distribution companies with operations in Kansas City. Demand for industrial space has driven the continued expansion at the Business Park.
Maintaining our long term partnership with Hunt Midwest, Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) provided preconstruction services for the Business Park’s 7th Plat and began construction operations on site in late November 2022. The project includes 1,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer installation and 2.8 million cubic yards of grading and excavation that will lay the groundwork for 4 warehouse structures that will be constructed on the property.
While grading operations are underway, a new roadway will be constructed onsite by a third-party contractor. ESS is working collaboratively with this contractor and other subcontractors on site to maintain a safe work environment. Our proactive and ongoing safety measures include diligently sequencing work so all project partners — each with a high volume of equipment working concurrently — can effectively cross access lanes and navigate a site that has many steep slopes and stretches across vast acres of land.
ESS’ work on this project is anticipated to be complete in November 2023.
