Flint Street Design-Build
Shawnee, KS
The Flint Street project was a fast-track Design-Build job. One aspect that made this project stand out was the aggressive schedule. It went from rough sketching plans to final design for utility relocation in just 8 months. There were many overlapping aspects of this project in a compressed schedule. Flint is a two lane asphalt roadway with open drainage ditches on each side located within the public right-of-way. Approximately 36 parcels abut this segment of Flint. This minor residential collector street was selected to be the first new street improvement project in the City of Shawnee Street Improvement Program (SIP). The Flint Street Improvements will also include a section of recreational trail from Johnson Drive south to the location of the Nieman North drainage project.
