Project OverviewDescripción del proyecto

The Flint Street project was a Design-Build job with an aggressive schedule. As design-builder, Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) went from conceptual plans to the final design for utility relocation in just 8 months. There were many overlapping aspects of this project in a compressed schedule.

Flint is a two-lane asphalt roadway with open drainage ditches on each side located within the public right-of-way. Approximately 36 parcels abut this segment of Flint. This minor residential collector street was selected to be the first new street improvement project in the City of Shawnee Street Improvement Program (SIP). The Flint Street Improvements will also include a section of recreational trail from Johnson Drive south to the location of the Nieman North drainage project.
This project required the complete removal and replacement of the existing pavement. ESS took charge of 15,000 cubic yards of grading and widening, over 16,000 square feet of concrete, 5,000 linear feet of curb and gutter, 21,400 square feet of sidewalks with ADA ramps, and 6,100 linear feet of underground utilities. ESS subcontractors completed 8,900 square yards of new asphalt pavement, LED streetlights, recreational trails, landscaping, signage, and pavement markings.
