2022 Annual Meeting is Back in Person

After pivoting to a virtual meeting in 2021, Emery Sapp & Sons’ (ESS) employee-owners were anxious to get back in person for our biggest and bluest event ever. The 2022 Annual Meeting and 50th Anniversary Celebration was an electric celebration worthy of the theme: “A legacy forged in the field. A future that’s just beginning.”

More than 1,200 employee-owners flooded Rogers Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas on March 10 and 11 to receive training, company updates, and to create connections with team members across the region. Thursday featured special training and education for our supervisors, along with a keynote speaker, Leif Babin, President and Co-Founder of Echelon Front, who spoke on extreme ownership. Our Midwest employee-owners gathered for Friday’s company updates, ESOP education, branch breakouts, and the 2021 stock price reveal. Many of our teammates participated virtually, including many of our partners from Achen-Gardner Construction in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.

We jump-started our Friday morning by presenting Billy Sapp, Founder and Chairman Emeritus, with the Emery Sapp Legacy Award to honor his continued dedication to our organization, people, and industry.

In addition, many awards were presented to some well-deserving employee-owners. Greg Hill, a Foreman on our Springfield team, took home our Lance Trager Memorial Safety Award. Congrats, Greg! Learn more about Greg here.

We also recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to the ESS family over their tenured careers. This distinguished group continues to exemplify our mission and values in everything they do. We are proud to recognize the following employee-owners as our 2022 Blue Bloods:

  • Ed Calvert, Project Manager
  • Lucas Caldwell, Foreman
  • Ron Mann, Operations Manager

Congrats are also in order for our Springfield and Springdale team for winning Safety Team of the Year! These employee-owners have earned 8 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) for their continued focus on safety excellence in every aspect of the job.

To celebrate our 50-year milestone, we threw a Pardi on Friday night like no other at Topgolf. It was energizing to see all employee-owners come together and truly celebrate our legacy forged in the field and the future that’s just beginning. After all, we only turn 50 once.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2022 Annual Meeting one for the books!
