Russell Crane Named 2007 Committee Chair of the YearApril 18, 2008  AGC-MO Jefferson City - Russell Crane, Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., was selected as the 2007 AGC of Missouri Committee Chair of the Year. Mr. Crane chaired the Legislative Committee.Mr. Crane has been the Legislative Committee Chair since 2005. He is actively involved with the Committee and seen many successes to benefit the construction industry, including: ► In 2005, passage of HB 824 (clarifications that "cut and fill" activities in construction do not require state "mining permits"; and passage of SB 1 (work comp reform). ► In 2006, passage of SB 872 (stronger work zone safety laws); and passage of HB 1456 (Unemployment Compensation reforms). ► In 2007, passage of HB 298 (State Blasting Safety Act); and AGC achieved a 15-year goal of repealing the sales tax on materials for MoDOT projects "leveling the playing field" for our affiliates and resulting in at least $30 million more per year for highway construction. The Associated General Contractors of Missouri, Inc., headquartered in Jefferson City, is a state association representing heavy, highway, bridge and municipal utility contractors and construction industry supply firms. |
